The flat die pellet press is mainly composed of roller, flat die, feeder, main shaft, blade, motor and etc. When the pellet press works, the friction between the die and the roller bring the temperature up to 80 ℃, the biomass raw materials are squeezed and then get into the small holes of flat die. When pellets emerge on the other side of the die, the blade will cut them into the same length and you can get compressed pellets. So the flat die and the roller are very important for making pellets.
Commercial flat die wood pellet press has D type and R type. D type means the roller is fixed and the flat die is rotating with the main shaft. But R type is on the contrary, the roller is rotating with the main shaft and the flat die is fixed.

There are 4 driving methods, they are as follows: electric motor, diesel, gasoline engine and PTO. They have their respective merits. For example, the pellet press with electric motor can work as long as there is electricity, the pellet press with PTO can be driven by connecting a tractor or other agriculture machineries.
