How to increase the output of pellet press?
When you purchase a pellet press, of course you want your machine to work freely and continuously. And each pellet press manufacturer hopes their machine can make more pellets and can be used for a very very long time. But how to realize it? Want to solve this problem, we must know the factors which influence the output of the pellet press.
Factors influence output of pellet press
- Moisture content of raw materials. This is very important, more than 15%, the raw materials between the flat dies and roller is easy to slip, which affect pelletizing and production of pellets. While less than 10%, the friction between the material and the pellet press increases, which can result in damage to the dies and rollers and reduce the output of pellets.
- Raw material size. The optimum size of raw materials should be kept at 3mm or 4mm. This is because the gap between adjacent particles leads to poor adhesion. If the raw material is too large, it will not be compacted. But if the size is too small, because the time is too short through the die hole, the ultrafine powder will not be better pelletized.
- Ingredients. Many raw materials are different in lignin content. This is why some materials are easy to handle and other materials are not easy to deal with. For this problem, some difficult materials should be mixed with the adhesive to achieve better results.
- Another important factor is the gap between the rollers and the dies of the pellet press. According to different raw materials, the clearance ranges from 0.1mm to 0.3mm. Out of the range, the service life will be affected and of course the final output will be reduced.
- The distance between the pellet press and the feed plate has a great influence on the yield. If the distance between the pellet press and the feed scraper is too small, the material is difficult to enter the die hole, resulting in low production. On the other hand, if the distance between the pellet press and the feed scraper is too large, the pellets can be crushed out of order or even burned the motor. The most suitable distance between the pellet press and the feed scraper is between 10-30m.
How to operate pellet press correctly?
Obviously, correct operation of pellet press can improve the output greatly. So it’s important to operate pellet press correctly.
For the first time, the operator should use 12% oil mixture to melt and fill all holes, then melt with the official ingredients. When the operator completes a single day, fill the cavity with 1% oil to make sure the die hole is not blocked.
About the daily use, each time should clean the roller and die thoroughly, and check the spare parts, if they are worn out, change them timely.
The clearance between roller and die shall be adjusted per shift into the skip-and-touch status of rollers as the ideal for running
According to the operation rules to check every parts of the pellet press, to ensure the continuous use of it.
