Application of bagasse pellet

Growth cycle of sugarcane is short, one harvest a year, the production is rich. Bagasse is a kind of clean, high quality, and sustainable biomass energy, which is rich in fiber, less ash, and no SO2. Pelletizing is a kind of physical transformation of bagasse biomass energy, after drying and pelletizing, the density, durability, and combustion characteristics of bagasse have been greatly improved, and it is convenient for transportation and storage.

Applications of bagasse pellet

With a bagasse pellet press, we can transform the bagasse into bagasse pellet, which has the following applications:

bagasse pellet for sugar refinery boiler
Instead of firewood for startup and shutdown maintenance of sugar refinery boiler, in order to solve the contradiction of sugar refinery, who has large amount of bagasse residue, on the other hand, they have to burn a lot of firewood.

bagasse pellet for local residents
Solve the energy problem of local residents. A lot of sugar refinery locate in the remote are, sugarcane growers live in remote mountainous area where is lack of electric and energy, thus firewood is their main life energy. After pelletizing, the bagasse pellet is more convenient to transport and store, and can be supplied locally to local residents and sugarcane growers to meet their living energy and fuel needs, which will reduce the cutting amount of firewood, protect local ecological environment, as well as realize the sustainable development of sugarcane planting.
carbonized bagasse pellets Pressed bagasse pellet can be further carbonized into charcoal, in order to meet the market demand of charcoal.

Advantages of our bagasse pellet press

After be crushed and squeezed, sugarcane will leave granular bagasse, a bagasse pellet press is a machine that press these left bagasse into biomass pellet without crushing, which can be burned as fuel. The press molding process of bagasse pellet press is: bagasse-dry-pelletizing.

01

The pressing die and main shaft of our bagasse pellet press adopt 4Cr13, which is more wear-resisting because of high Cr content. Special heat treatment makes their hardness to be 60HRc.

02

Our bagasse pellet press adopts two or three pair of rollers, high efficiency, and uniform pellet size.

03

CE certificate, our bagasse pellet press has certificated by CE, and all spare parts can meet the EU standard!

04

GEMCO bagasse pellet press, as well as the spare parts, are easy to install and change, thus staff training is also much easier.

Pelletizing process of bagasse pellet press

Dried to the appropriate moisture, the bagasse can be carry out compression molding. According to the differences of compression molding, it can be processed by hot press molding and cold press molding.

Hot press molding of bagasse pellet press

Hot press molding is one of the most commonly used technologies for biomass pelletizing. Besides rich cellulose, bagasse also contains 18.6% lignin, which has no melting point but softening point. When the temperature is 120~160℃, soluble matter in the lignin begins to dissolve, lignin will be softened and plasticized when the temperature up to 180℃, then press them so that they are tightly bonded with cellulose and mutually bond with adjacent particles. The hot press molding of bagasse, is using the lignin of heated bagasse as binder, cellulose and hemicelluloses as the “backbone”, pressed scattered bagasse into pellets with specified size under certain temperature and pressure conditions.

Cold press molding of bagasse pellet press

Cold pressing forming process does not require external heating, and has a wide range of water content requirements, however, as the raw material is not heated and softened, the molding pressure is larger than that of hot press molding.
